I became re-interested with wireless rigs after watching the set-up

sources I investigated. Is there a wireless mic that is similar to
the AKG SO40/WMS40?

i've been using this for some time now, and it works great. note that
it is a single frequency model, which could, in theory, cause problems
if others are using the same hardwired frequency. in practice, i've never
had a problem with it.
others have mentioned a new system, somewhat digital, that sounds
interesting. but i don't recall what it is.
whichever system you go with, i *highly* recommend wireless. being
untethered is a really great thing. i especially like being to walk
out in the bar to check out volume levels, which are hard to get right
from onstage.
