The key is desire. I've run into lots of performers who say they want  
it. But the proof , as the say, is in the pudding. They won't get  
there without a change of heart.

Others have the desire but their fear runs so deep and wide that they  
will never get there without a major break through.

The players mentioned were probably  all "running to the lake with  
their hair on fire." They got there because, in their hearts, they had  
no choice.
