[Harp-L] Re: my first amp and mic??

Here's another idea for ya if you're going to go the vocal house mic
route. Get yourself an Audix Fireball V mic:

Get an XLR male to XLR female mic cord(25 footer is a good length),
and grab yourself one of these:

The mic, cord , and transformer set is very versatile. If you're just
going to use the house vocal mic, why not just switch out with your
own.(possibly cleaner germwise scenario?) You can't go wrong with
having a volume control on your mic. The xlr to xlr cable is also
great for plougging into a spare channel on the house PA board. If
you decide to plug into an amp, add the inline transformer to turn
your mic into hi impedance to drive the amp(this setup is where it's
really handy to have the volume control) I've never used one of
these :

but maybe run one between your mic and the PA could possibly warm up
your tone. Maybe someone here who knows better could chime in on that
point? Overal, it's not an expensive playing out rig that is
versatile, and is also good for practicing at home too.
