Re: [Harp-L] Chromatic Comparo
Well, they are different, but overall very solid. I think better in some
ways and not as good in others. Overall, they seem to be very well made.
I find that the factory gapping is too tight for my preference, but
that's just a matter of adjustment. One of my two Magic Gardens needed
work on the slide to smooth it out. I did find that nuts for the
mouthpiece screws on the Magic Garden can fall out of place so you have
to be careful when reassembling. I've only purchased 3 Suzuki's so far
compared to dozens of Hohners (over many years), but my impression so
far is that the Suzuki factory tuning is more precise.
The Suzuki line is quite diverse and these harps are definitely serious
contenders (although they so far have nothing like the CX12). I also get
the impression that they are very responsive to customer issues. If you
have technical questions, I'm sure list member (and Suzuki Harmonica
Specialist) Brendan Power will be delighted to answer them. They have
also picked up some top notch endorsers, including Brendan and Gregoire
Maret.
Definitely worth a look!

Thanks,
I've been a Hohner guy all these years and I've never seriuosly
considered other brands. Are the Suzuki's made any better?
