The 12AT7 is designed much different than the 12AX7 or the 5751.  While it
does have lower gain, it has MUCH higher current output and
transconductance.  That means miles of clean headroom.  I tried the 12AT7
(not the Mullard) in V1 in several amps and hated it.

How is the Mullard different?
