Re: [Harp-L] Rocket #9 review - Citybeat

I agree, Jason is excellent and always puts on a great show. He has played at the Blues on Grand here in Des Moines five or six times and I have been there for every show. As a matter of fact I bought Rocket #9 and another CD called "Burning Sessions," a compilation of previously unreleased tracks, from him in between sets a few weeks ago. We even talked harmonicas a little bit. He suggested I should look at his root notes videos to learn more about how he plays. But the cd is the best he has done so far. Jason is influenced by so many different types of music you can't really pin him down as one or another style of music. But despite that he plays to a crowded bar each time he's here. And the band is so tight and so damned good. I think they must be the hardest working bands around. Keep up the excellent work Jason.

Thanks and have a great day!!

This is LONG overdue. I got Jason's CD a while back and was totally
 blown
away. I've enjoyed everything he's recorded to this point but
Rocket #9 is definitely his first true recording of "Jason's music".
 It's
almost non genre related. There's such a mix of influence in this CD
 that
it's really a breath of fresh air. Jason, I really wish you the best
brother. Keep on being you and bringing us new fresh ideas.
