man How the hell can you play with any feel when you're that loud everything is distorted and muddy plus poeple can't listen properly.volume is not! tone. i have a beautifull 99H86 black CR date code 333 and i can smoke any guitarist in volume through my bassman but i prefer playing my jt30 crystal keeping the volume at 5 max. If anybody plays louder than that i'll punch them in the throat. LOL. on a serious note i'm trying out a new rig it's a bassman RI with two mojotone alnico on the top and two eminence on the bottom i like the tone but the innitial sound is really sceering can any one offer suggestion. It has a 5U4 rectifier 2 6L6 and preamp as follows 12AU7 12Au7 and 12ay7 left to right from the rear i had it set with 12au7 12ay7 and 12at7 that was really hot. It may have been a sonnyjr modified amp not sure.
