[Harp-L] Mic and amps, oh my! (harp amp taste test)
If anyone has a large environment in the NYC area that would
accommodate a bunch of harp players and a band would they let me know.
After some initial heat I have received quite a few positive emails
from players in the NY area (and beyond) that are earnestly interested
in a harp amp taste test. Keith from harpamps.com wants to be involved
as well. I should be able to put together a band to ground the
experience. My personal contribution would be organizational and if
necessary I would pay for a drummer (drummers like to be paid). I
would also bring my Kinder Soulful and elicit some of the other amp
builders. While I would like to focus on harp-voiced amps (to catalyze
consumer experience and builder exposure) some of the other harp
specific products, e.g., Thunderharp mike, Lone wolf harp delay, are
in my possession. If it weren't for the abundance of positive
responses I received I would have retired this fantasy as my initial
and innocent request to organize this event was inverted into
something negative. Platitudes about subjectivity aside I think the
amp you play through really does make a difference in your sound. My
best. d
