Sounds like the same recording replayed over and over. Why is this so attractive? 
 
"SEND IN THE CLONES"?
 
What about getting into the mindset and learning how "The Masters" created these ideas, so that you can create your OWN IDEAS from the ground up without having to memorize their's? This is the true fast track to creativity, bypassing the years of "learn these solos note for note and eventually you will get it" approach.
 
Since most of these clinicians took this long route themselves and/or know no other approach, it runs rampant throughout the industry, unfortunately. 
 
This may even tie in to that other thread about "real creativity".
