Re: [Harp-L] seydel 1847 harp
I normally play Special 20's unmodified. I got caught up in the hype of
Seydel so I bought 2 harps. An 1847 and Soloist Pro. Below is my review.
I received my new Seydel 1847 in C and Soloist Pro in A. The 1847 seems like
a very nice harp. It is very responsive, loud and I can get it to overblow
out of the box. It is also very comfortable as well. No sharp edge so
maybe Seydel has a quality control issue with the 1847's.
The Soloist Pro was somewhat of a let down. It has the sharp edge and was
uncomfortable to play. It was also very dark/dull sounding compared to the
1847 which was very bright. It was also leaky and very unresponsive compared
to my Special 20's.
I also purchased a Bushman Delta Frost in D and I really like that harp !
Very responsive, loud and overblows out of the box. For the price I will
probably try more of the Bushmans.
