With a treasure of harps in one basket, and mics, cord and schtuff to tote around, I need something that's easy to use, unlikely to get stolen and that's beer-proof, unbreakable and orderly.
So I use a Plano Fishing tackle box. Solidly built, plastic, good latch. It holds 26 harps, two levels with orderly slots so I know what harp is where, and storage beneath to carry my old Tom Austin 707d, backup Shaker mic, other harps (14 holer, etc.), repair kit, cord, earplugs, recorder and etc.
And nobody's gonna steal a funky old fishing tackle box that costs $8.95, especially since it's got no autographs on it. Just a sticker from the 60's that says, "Strike the War Machine."
I think it's the absolute best harp case I've ever seen. And I have a larger one I use at home for old harps, parts and repair stuff.
PLANO, baby!

The only thing that worries me about the Hetrick case besides the logo
is it is the World Trade Center of harmonica cases. While I'd hate to
lose 12 harmonicas 42 would be orders of magnitude more catastrophic. I
guess I'll see a Hetrick case if I go to Spah this year. I'm on the
fence. I'll sure miss the stacks of priority mail boxes I currently use
to sort harmonicas. fjm
