Re: [Harp-L] Rack- Harp Holder for a Golden Melody
If you are otherwise happy with your Hohner rack, then I suggest the
following:
Use epoxy to glue pennies to the back of the harps near the ends. It would
be a good idea to sand the pennies and the harp to assure a good glue joint.
I recommend J B Weld glue but no doubt others will work.
Another thing to investigate would be to take the covers off and use a small
hammer and rounded punch against a soft wood block to make some big dimples
extending outward from the covers. They might give the clamp something to
grasp.
The general principles here are to attach something to the harp or change
the shape of the covers to give the clamp something to grasp. There are
probably hundreds of ways to do either.
I don't own any GMs, so you should put a harp in the rack and hold a penny
on the back to see if it will work.
My Ergonomic-Neck-Rack would work if you drilled holes in the covers near
the rear corners. This would allow the screws in the little "C" clamps to
penetrate the covers and grasp the reedplates. You would like the rack, but
drilling holes in all of your GM covers might not be something that you
would wish to do.
Please let us know what you adopt as your final solution.

Subject: [Harp-L] Rack- Harp Holder for a Golden Melody
Folks I started using a harp/holder again. I have an old Honerer rack with
springs from 1971. The problem I use Golden Melody's and the "rounded
edges" keep sliding off the rack. Has anyone else had this problem and
what can be done. Are there any new rack/holders that can accodomate a
Golden Melody
Thanks James
