SJ, a simple setup that works for me when playing electric (for
which I use an amp that's probably no more than 6W) is one of those
tilt amp stands, I point the amp right up at me and mic the amp
through the PA. this basically make my amp my stage monitor...
leaving the soundman to worry about the house. The soundman should
have plenty to work with as far as volume from your miced amp, and
if they don't get you in the mix after that, it's a human issue and
no equipment's going to solve that.
