[Harp-L] re: feedback

Oh, I likes me volume pot! Cranked and cupped is the sound I want for solos, and backing off is perfect for playing under the singer or guitar player. It also allows me to turn it completely off and plug one ear with a finger to quickly practice a line or whatever.

Give me a good amp with low power preamp tubes and a mic with a CR element & volume pot and I'm set.

If you get a mic with a volume pot and you drop it on the floor, you can break
things. You also have pots that can get dirty.

Keep a tight cup around the mic. Don't stand directly in front of the amp. Get a
loud amp(50watt tube amp) so that you can keep the amp volume knob turned down
to 2 and still be heard. Turn the treble down to about 2 or less. Get a hot mic
so when you dig in you get a little distortion. If your amp has a bright switch,
don't go near it, keep it off.
