[Harp-L] re: feedback
If you buy an anti-feedback box, you need to bring it to gigs, you need to bring
an extra cable, and you have to worry about breaking it or having some yahoo
pour beer on it.Plus a cheap one is a hundred bucks.
If you get a mic with a volume pot and you drop it on the floor, you can break
things. You also have pots that can get dirty.
Keep a tight cup around the mic. Don't stand directly in front of the amp. Get a
loud amp(50watt tube amp) so that you can keep the amp volume knob turned down
to 2 and still be heard. Turn the treble down to about 2 or less. Get a hot mic
so when you dig in you get a little distortion. If your amp has a bright switch,
don't go near it, keep it off.
