Re: [Harp-L] Re: Why use an effects pedal?
As far as I know he used his OC-2 octave with both octave knobs turned down
completely and the mix knob on "12" ..this way the OC-2 is like using a
pre-amp.
I tried it on my Marble Harpmaster with 3 different mic's.
1. Green Bullet 520 Sl with original CM element
2. JT30 with a Shure CR white label element
3. Astatic brown biscuit with a MC127 ceramic element.
The brown biscuit with the ceramic gave thebest result when combined with
the OC2.... the sound became punchier, more attack but still had that
characteristic ceramic sound. I noticed that , where I normally have volume
on 7 / 8 , I had to turn it down a little to 6/7. Just a little more
feedback when using the OC2...
When I combined it with the other 2 mic's I had more feedback problems but
still it was a useful "effect".
A digital delay like a Boss DD3 had the same result...nice for ceramic(and
crystal) elements but a little too harsh sounding (to my ears) with other
elements.
