XB-40

For those players who may worry that their old habits may impede their transitioning to
the XB-40's slightly different layout, I have a suggestion.

Stay away from 2nd position! Sure the temptation to add all sorts of baroque
curlicues to your favorite 2nd position riffs will be hard to resist. But before you
get into all that, see what you can do in 3rd, or 4th or 5th or 12th positions. If
you're an average player you may have a cleaner slate to work with in those less
familiar positions. You won't find yourself making as many "richter" mistakes. And
those positions will now be a whole lot easier to have fun with.
