Blues and Zydeco singer and harmonica player Mel Melton was born on this day
in 1949.  He began playing the harmonica after recieving one for his
eleventh birthday and got heavily into the Blues after listening to Paul
Butterfield and Little Walter Records in college.  He's recorded a couple of
albums of his own as well as appearing on records with Sonny Landreth,
Clifton Chenier and others.

Blues harmonica player Lynwood Slim was born on this day in 1953.  Slim
began playing the harmonica at the age of fifteen.  He moved to Minnesota in
the mid-1980's and took over the harmonica slot in the band that Kim Wilson
left to join the Fabulous Thunderbirds.  He's recorded several albums of his
own since that time.

Birthday Greetings go out to list member Otto Fun-Harp!!!!  Happy Birthday
Otto!!!

Blues guitar and harmonica player Blind Willie McTell died on this day in
1959.  McTell had been playing music professionally since his teens.  He
made quite a number of records starting in the late 1920's and remained
active in music until his death.
