Re: Renee Geyer album harmonica solo - Morning Glory

Hi,

just about to go to bed when a promo pops up on ABC tv (australia) for Renee Geyer's new album "tenderland(?)"

They were showing a track called "Morning Glory" and they even featured a very nice harmonica solo - all upper end too - anybody down here know who the player was and if they have any more stuff on the album?

(c'mon, 'fess up if yr out there.)

for anybody who wants to know I think it will be more a jazz type album , maybe there is some slow blues on it but all i have seen is a bit of this one very nice track.

ps - was utterly disgusted with a documentary tonight called 'the voice' tracing the history of American(?) popular singers - started with an interesting line of discussion of tone/phrasing vocal effects of Louis Armstrong, Bing Cosby, Frank Sinatra, Tony Bennet, Elvis, Bobbie 'Blue' Bland (even old footage of Aretha Franklin's dad preaching and doing his throat thing) - then it jumped straight to Bono and Chuck D (Public Enemy rapper) -

surely that is travelling from the sublime to the ridiculous.

it may not be purely about american popular vocalists but that's even worse to jump from elvis to bono - there was nobody in the world who filled that space?
