Country harmonica player Wayne Raney was born on this day in 1921.  Raney
began playing the harmonica at the age of five after hearing Lonnie Glosson
play on the radio.  He eventually teamed up with Glosson for several years
as a  harmonica duo as well as doing quite a few records on his own.

Blues guitarist Luther Allison was born on this day in 1939.  Allison, like
any self-respecting Blues musician should,  played some harmonica.

Classical composer Robert Russell Bennett died on this day in 1981.  Bennett
wrote "Concerto for harmonica and Orchestra" in 1974 for Cham-Ber Huang.

Blues harmonica player Hammie Nixon died on this day in 1984.  Nixon learned
to play the harmonica from Noah Lewis and played with Sleepy John Estes on
and off from 1924 until Estes' death in 1977.
