Daily Almanac - August 5

Vaudeville harmonica player Bill Walden was born on this day in 1925.
Walden was a memeber of Borrah Minevitch's Harmonica Rascals during the
1930's and 40's.

Blues drum, guitar and harmonica player Joe Hill Louis died on this day in
1957. Louis learned how to play the harmonica from Will Shade during the
1930's. He spent several years rambling around the country and didn't
settle down until he started making records in 1949. Working out of Memphis
as a one-man band, he took over B.B. King's radio show and made quite a few
records for the Sun Label.

That's all I have for today. Have fun and practice.
