Re: Sleazy Chromatic Blues

I also like the D chromatic 270 model 12 hole, it is tuned almost an octave
lower than the C and in third position gives you the E (a common blues key) or
F with the slide in (sometimes good with horn players). Actually I was
wondering if anyone knows if a 12 hole 270 tunes an octave lower is made in
the key of C? Kind of like the 16 hole chromatic without the top octave.
Also on my Larry Adler model 16 hole chromatic (similiar to the super
chromonica?) I had to reset the slide itself by drilling a hole in it and
filed some of the holes on the slide to allow better air flow into the reed
chamber because the holes did not align well with the slide pushed in or out.
This helped especially with increasing the volume in the lowest and mid range
octaves.

So does anyone have a low tuned 270 in the key of C available?.

I'm surprised more people don't use G chromatics (not as common as C, but
still easy to find). This lets you play songs in A (a very popular blues key)
in the traditional chromatic third position. I really like doing this...I
sometimes play George Smith's "Last Night" using a G chromatic.
