What effects do you use in in doing Walter Horton stuff? I actually am a
big fan and am trying to concentrate on aspects of my playing which
Big Walter did better than anybody else (TONE)! Jerry Portnoy is the
only living player that comes close to getting that fat tone.
With respect to amps, I am using a 1962 Princeton (black, white knobs) which
is one of the amps that Walter used. It has less balls, but a fatter tone than my
Bassman. It's nice on stage too, because I'm not driving the stage volume
to ear splitting levels.
