I never even thought about how I hold a harmonica until recently. I was 
reading the Harp Handbbok  and I realised that's not how I do it.  For me 
it's a left handed thing. Sonny Terry played upside down also.  Cham ber 
Huang plays with the slide reversed.  Jimi Hendrix played an upside down 
guitar and so does Earl King.  It's all in your head anyway.  That's 
where the true struggle lies.  Benny Goodman decided that he played 
clarinet wrong and relearned the instrument with classical fingering.  
Sonny Rollins did the same thing with the sax.  Personally I liked his 
playing better before he changed.  FJM
