First off, it's Kavoukian. Don't expect much of a response from
a guy if you don't get his name right. (I know, you'd probably
look it up and get it right at the time of writing, but someone
else might pick it up from here).

But if his name is Kavoukian, don't expect much of a response
anyway. My saying about Jack is that you have to kick him twice
to get him to say "ouch" once. And, in any case, he has little to
do with repair/replacement of defective instruments.

Seems to me a couple of days ago there was an exchange in which
someone named to the best people at Hohner USA to contract
regarding repairs. Those are the people you should talk to -
preferably by phone, in advance of any written communication or
of sending in defective instruments (nothing to do with Hohner in
particular, just the best way of getting good attention).

Junky reedplates, eh? Sounds like a case of "let the regular
series go to hell so they'll be glad to buy the modular
instruments." Or maybe it's just another round of mindless corner
cutting back in Trossingen. Word from inside Hohner is that the
modular series is being redesigned, and being done right this
time.

===== Chris Harris

I asked after him at the SPAH convention. You're right, he's
moved to Spain, and has been in touch with Ray Tankersley, whose
address I don't have handy. Let me know if you want it and I'll
dig it up.
