Re: [Harp-L] Spah 2014 Blow Off

First, the Blowoff is at BB's Jazz, Blues and Soups in downtown St. Louis.

Some folks stay at the hotel for the SPAH Convention opening ceremony about 6:30, and either stick around to jam and socialize or head down to Bb's after the ceremony, while others may prefer to head downtown early and have dinner at BB's.

Most years, folks hook up informally for ridesharing or take taxicabs. Pretty much everyone who wants to get there makes it. As the Blowoff is independently organized, SPAH has only gotten involved with providing shuttle service once, when a member volunteered to shoulder half the cost.

Still, a significant portion of SPAH attendees (more than "a few") attend the Blowoff and we'd like to facilitate attendance in a way that's cost effective. The hotel can't help us as their shuttle is dedicated to airport traffic. Hiring a shuttle was tried by the 2012 promoter, who ended up eating a large bill due to underutilization. I'm looking at a few options, though, and may have something to report in the next few days.

Question: How many reading this would pay $5 to ride a shuttle to or from the Blowoff?

I understand that a few SPAH attendees are going downtown St Louis for the
Blow off.

I'd like some info on when and where and transportation back and forth.

Thanks

Gordon
