Keeping in mind I've never seen Popper live, tyhis doesn't gel with my own
listening experience. Listen to his solos on Run-Around or Stand from the
album "Four". Most of them are in the middle or lower octave, fast, precise
and powerful.

This I am more enclined to agree with. There doesn't seem to be much
reflection and evolution in his playing, although he has evidently pondered
the role of the harp in BT, since the previous but last album had
practically none.

That being said, it would be disingenuous to blame Popper for that and not
blame the dozens of famous blues harp players who have doing the exact same
thing for the last thirty years...
