So I have to back about about 35? yrs. Mr. James 'jimmy' Gordon was one of several people whom would come to spah (and other fests) and I actually enjoyed seeing and hearing them.
I always enjoyed my time with Jim. Though it was limited due to him being so much in demand. 
 
I vividly recall the night that he did the famous 'James Brown bit'. The one where he has difficulty crossing the stage, sweating profusely, quite exhausted. And an attendant was right there behing him with a cape. Trying to put it around Jim so he wouldn't get a chill, while escorting him off stage. Then at the last minute he broke into the tune 'please, please, please'
 
Those of us whom knew the bit went crazy. The rest of the crowd, whom didn't know the bit ALSO went crazy. It was one of the greatest bits I had ever witnessed. That's what Jim was. He was spontaneously effervescent. Fond memories Jimmy.
