The latest episode is a retrospective on one of the true greats of not only the harmonica, but also the blues: Sonny Boy Williamson II (aka Alex 'Rice' Miller).
Two guests share their unparalleled knowledge on Sonny Boy:
Jim Basinger will soon be releasing a biography he has written about Sonny Boy, and Giles Robson is a professional harmonica player who has studied the playing and life of Sonny Boy since he first got into the blues at age 14.

The story of Sonny Boy is full of mystery and joy. He rose from a tough upbringing on a plantation in the US to become one of the biggest names in blues. Rising to fame on the King Biscuit Time Radio show, he recorded for Trumpet Records before making his classic cuts on Chess Records.
He was the leading light of the American Folk Blues Festivals in 1963 and 1964 and became a celebrity in England during this time, where he had a huge influence on the British Blues boom.
He died too young at 52 but left an indelible mark on blues and the harmonica.
