Hi everybody, I would like to let you know that I have three albums up on
the Bandcamp platform. Bandcamp is the most artist friendly platform I have
found, and I have gone through the process of licensing all the cover
tunes, paid the fees, and done all the homework to make them totally above
board (it was a trip figuring some of this out - I ended up getting a
contract made for two of the tunes with a songwriter friend of mine who was
not showing up in the search - I just sent him a royalty check for the
first round of sales...) The latest recording was done a year ago at the
State Theatre in State College, PA.
I did a live solo show and had it recorded direct to half inch analog tape
by an ace recording tech through vintage mics and a mixing board that he
rebuilt to his personal specs. His name is Hunter Davidshon and he has been
recording a number of regional bands (his studio is in New York State and
he also has this portable rig.
You can listen to high quality audio of all the recordings for free -
please check them out - it's like youtube without ads and distracting
videos!
The three albums:
- The State Theatre Live Solo Recordings - mostly blues, including some
MB30 solos that really work the range of the instrument
- Creel Reels - A series of instrumentals (celtic, bluegrass, and old
timey) made for an award winning instructional video on fly fishing.
Includes notes on harp keys, positions, and capo settings on guitar. Joe
Filisko encouraged me to release these tunes a while ago after I sent him a
CD I burned of the tunes. It has since been remastered.
- Coming Down Off the Mountain - A two song album with songs written by my
friend Jon Rounds. One recorded last year, one recorded in 1988.
