Not sure if this is the one you are looking for, but Mikael Backman, from the band John Henry, wrote his master thesis on practicing / playing diatonic and chromatic harmonicas within a western swing context. Hello,
Years ago a player advised he had gone to school for Western Swing and put
out an album.  It was excellent.  ANyone know who I am talking about?
