Very interesting video - goes along with my observation that every decade used to have a particular "sound" - 40's, 50's, 60's, 70's, 80's, 90's up until the 2000 - they were "eras". However in the last almost 20 years, music sounds the same - no evolution, nothing new, just redo of old formulas.
I also believe the short attention span mentioned in this video originated with MTV and those quick camera cuts - just when your eyes were starting to focus on one image, they quickly jump to another view, another person, etc...creating a short attention span virus that spread throughout our culture, IMO.
