If one truly becomes (EXPERT) at using 2nd position - they will have inadvertently Mastered all 12 positions simultaneously... Think about it - just as a note in a scale seems to travel through tonal centers but never actually leaves the scale, so music seems to travel into a past and a future MODE but never actually leaves its modality :)(:
