Regarding SPAH awards: it may surprise members of this list that their
nominations have a lot of weight.  There are not thousands of nominations
for a SPAH award in any given year, and any candidate proposed is going to
get serious attention.

So if you've been holding back on nominating someone for a SPAH award
because you don't think your vote has any weight, think again.
