Sorry to hear about the sad fate of your 1847s. Try sending them back to Seydel. I have always found the company to be very sympathetic. Maybe they would accept them as trade ins against Session Steels which have plastic combs. There is a legend ( which may be an urban myth) that you can put these through a dish washer.
