The electronics turn on by grounding on the sleeve of the plug. If you leave it plugged in, it will run the battery down.
Make sure that you have the amp muted or off as you plug in. The battery voltage makes momentary contact with the plug tip. This can produce a monstrous pop.

The Lone Wolf instructions explain that this pedal has no on/off switch but is powered up when something is plugged into its input jack. Does this mean that my battery will drain if I am not using it but leave my microphone plugged into it? I’ve been unplugging just in case it does run the battery when not in actual use but would like to be able to keep my gear set up for practicing without needing the plug stuff in and out every day.
