On my PC I'm using Presonus Studio One 3 together with a plug in called
Presence which has a ton of great patches.  Alternatively there's Reason
with the Electro Harmonic Waves patches.   I think the Presonus/Reason
setup has a bit more lag than the Reason/EHW setup, but the Presence
patches are richer sounding.   Both setups sound better than Garageband to
my ears.
