The obvious solution is to play the piece on a D harp in 2nd position.
You'll need to do some bending to get all the notes of the E chord, but
otherwise it's all there.  if you use a D harp in country tuning (draw 5
reed tuned up 1/2 step), even better--then you can play the full E triad in
the second octave.
