[Harp-L] What key is the band in?

Also useful, but rare among blues players and jammers, is the fingers up or
down signal, denoting the sharps or flats in the key. (Does it have a
better name?)

C = fist, no fingers
G = one finger up, one sharp
D = two fingers up, two sharps
A = three fingers up, 3 sharps

F = one finger down, one flat
Bb = two fingers down, two flats
Eb = three fingers down, 3 flats

I am around a few players who will call out verbally "One up" for G, for
example.
I don't expect it to catch on, but it sure is effective when it is the
common language at the time.
(Then follows some confusion about calling the chord changes in numbers!)
