Hi Mike,
The best person to ask is the bass player if the singer or lead isn’t much help.
Also, if you can get a handle on what the lead player is strumming on the guitar for the I; IV or V you may be better able to figure the key out. This page will be very helpful with this. I played guitar for a long time before taking up harp & it helps me to figure out the key whenever I don’t have a courteous band leader in a jam.
