I've been using this tuning on the chromatic as my main axe for years.
The only caveat is that I start it on the 2nd, and call it a dorian tuning:
In the key you use to illustrate your example:
Blow D F A C Draw E G B D
However, I prefer the range of A Dorian Minor:
Blow A C E G Draw: B D F# A
