There are a considerable number of harp players who are devoted to the traditional Marine Band 1896 with its nailed together construction. This is an iconic harmonica model and the only significant change to the design in the last 120 years has been the move to a sealed comb, which virtually eliminates swelling. There are no plans to change it further. Hohner introduced the Marine Band Deluxe and Crossover models for those wishing to adjust or repair their instruments. Due to its sandwich construction, the MBDL is in my opinion the most easily adjustable harmonica around (a lot easier than a Sp.20) and is not expensive compared to many other models on the market today.
