Re: [Harp-L] about Michael Peloquin
Michael is one of a kind:
Last year I booked Michael Peloquin with his band East Bay Mudd…
at the Festival I produce here in Northern California….
He travels in Elite musical company …this performance was amazing.
Michael has amazing Chops and professionalism and understanding
as a known “horn section” guy. The Harmonica is just another vehicle for doing
what he does….
People are still taking about his bands performance…what a team player.
He did not play much harmonica on that day…but my respect for him
is huge. I’ve heard him over the past 20 some years around here….
and he just keeps breaking the mold ….
I would love to see him play with horn section ..all day…on Harmonica…some day.
Get to know this guy and you won’t be “bored with the blues” ..etc…
This Cat is the go to resource for learning/understanding playing in the horn section with just a diatonic harmonica.
Could not be a nicer guy…that is the icing on the cake…
Grant Walters….

> Hello all. I don’t actively post, but just had to take a moment and send this one out about my friend Michael Peloquin. He is, in my estimation, one of finest harmonica players out there today. Check him out on You Tube fronting Chicago Blues Power for starters. If you haven't seen it, I’m sure once you have, you’ll agree, this guy is a monster. Holding a gold medal from the Hohner World Championships is just one of the credentials on his resume. He’s also one of the Bay Areas most in demand sax players. At the top of his game on both instruments, he intertwines them both, playing horn riffs on the harp, and melody lines on the sax. I’ve had the pleasure of playing a few gigs with him, and I’ve got to tell you, I’m in awe every time I hear him. He has two DVD’s out, one for sax, and one for harmonica. If you haven’t checked them out, I suggest you do. You’ll be accessing a treasure trove of experience and knowledge, earned from years and years of honing and fine tuning the craft with study, practice, stage and recording time.
