I still listen to diatonic blues. The players I enjoy don't play fast. They
don't try to play jazz. They tell a story. They play with emotion. They
play with rhythm. If they don't have a harmonica in their mouth they can
still fascinate me just by clapping their hands or humming. (Ever heard Taj
Mahal's "A Little Soulful Tune"?). Musicians of that caliber are few and
far between so I agree with Randy's 80% figure. Actually its more like 98%
for me. But that doesn't mean I don't like playing it! Especially with a
good rhythm section that can take the music beyond the endless shuffle.
