I have to confess, I am totally bored with Darwinian rants. Darwin got us
going on the belief that life is about evolving and improving. And if you
are not evolving and improving you are dead, or at least should be. I don't
buy into that narrow view of life. Music is not about progressing it is
about creating something enjoyable. Progressive Jazz players can create
something pleasant. So can the amateur on his back porch who is
regurgitating the same old things that have been played for years.

My kids hate the music I listen to. My brother in law constantly jumps
Genre's and complains about songs like Hotel California because he does not
need to hear it ever again. These are preferences. They are not right or
wrong. They are not my preferences and don't need to be.

If you don't like something don't listen to it. But don't declare that it
is wrong and should die.
