Many moons ago when I started playing harmonica, you could test a harmonica before buying by using bellows supplied by the music store, which was very handy for weeding out dud harps. I think you could set it to play chords or single notes. 
Which makes me wonder if I could fashion some bellows and attach a harp to it and work it by foot.
