The standard richter harp includes a doubled note on the 5th note of the scale (G on a C harp) in the bottom octave, one played with an inhale, the other an exhale, and this layout can be used to create a drone on that note.  You can hear examples of this in action on my pieces "Hymn for Crow" and "Widow's walk," among others, both of which are available for listening and downloading at:

It's a somewhat limited but very useful feature of Richter tuning, and it's been used by others, notably carlos del Junco and Howard Levy.  with practice, you can work the drone notes against melodies extending as much as a double octave above the drone.
