Hello, ÂI'm a new subscriber. ÂI found your group while searching on the internet for a tune called the "Hoi Song", which I found on your list of Scottish/Irish tunes. ÂI have the music, which I had played with the Scottish Fiddlers of Los Angeles (yes, I'm a fiddler, not a harmonica player) and I'm wondering whether anyone knows the origin of this piece which I understand is from the Shetland Islands, and particular what is the meaning of the word 'hoi'.
If anyone can shed light on this please let me know and if it's possible to obtain sheet music for any other of the tunes on your list, please let me know that as well.
Many thanks,J Shah
