Interesting interview - when stated "we played traditional blues but had to show our shredding skills near the end", I could definitely hear the shredding, but the traditional blues styling wasn't very traditional blues to my ears - more rocky approach.
Not a fan of this style, but glad that Butterfield was inducted.
As to validity of shred blues, I guess time will tell...
