I've recently done a lot of research on recording devices and just bought
and just purchased a Canon Vixia HR500 camcorder to record myself and my
harmonica group.
Amazon has the best price at $245 or you can get a bundle with 2 extra
lithium batteries and 64 gb SD card. This should shoot excellent video and
record sound
as well. You can hook up an external mike in addition. If you are
looking for video, this is an excellent deal. You can mount the unit on a tripod
and one comes with the
bundle price of $319.

Isn't it wonderful the way the world holds both the deeply serious, and
the unexpectedly mirthful?

Anyone recommend a reasonably priced device for recording practice sessions
(2 electric guitars, vocals, electrified (if not electrifying!)harp )
